Strong winds from Hurricane Irma coming through Boca Raton resulted in downed powerlines and a fire.

Boca Raton Fire Rescue says winds knocked over powerlines near a home on 36th Street and Federal Highway Sunday morning.

The downed lines sparked a house fire and smoke can be seen coming from the home.

Right now, firefighters are unable to start an attack due to the live powerlines.

Florida Power and Light came to the home to turn off the power so crews could begin their work.

Authorities do not know if the house is empty, but so far no injuries have been reported.
