Erin MacPherson joined the CBS 12 news team in June 2017 as the Treasure Coast Reporter.
Erin grew up in Bel Air, Maryland, where she learned to love seafood, sports and the beach. She is a 2012 graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College where she played soccer (was the captain her senior year & won three championships in four years), played roles such as Anne Frank in college productions, was a member of two Greek organizations (Alpha Xi Delta & Alpha Psi Omega) and majored in Public Relations.
Her passion for journalism began at WJZ CBS News in Baltimore, MD where she interned during college. During her senior year of college, she began interning at WDTV in Clarksburg, West Virginia. After graduation, she was hired as a reporter and shortly thereafter became a Weekend Anchor.
Erin spent three years in the Mountain State before going to our Sinclair sister station WPDE ABC 15 News in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. There she consistently reported three days a week and anchored on the weekends, some of the time as the evening weekend anchor and for over six months was the anchor for Good Morning Carolinas.
After spending two years in the Palmetto State as a reporter/anchor, she made her way to CBS 12. Erin is covering Martin, Indian River, St. Lucie and Okeechobee Counties. If you see her out and about, say hello! If you have any story ideas, send them her way at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Erin is a certified weightlifting instructor and spends her free time playing with her Doberman (Wellington Von Duke), cooking healthy meals, working out in her garage gym and watching superhero movies.
