'Let's Move Challenge' logs over 6 million minutes of physical activity
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) —
Palm Beach County is making moves in the month of March. Participants of the Let's Move: Commit to Change Physical Activity Challenge logged nearly 6.9 million minutes.
Vanessa Moss, the Communications Coordinator of the Palm Healthcare Foundation and Andrea Bruton of SkyHighFitness, joined CBS12 This Morning with the highlights.
The Let's Move: Commit to Change Physical Activity Challenge encouraged Palm Beach County residents to be physically active at least 30 minutes a day throughout the month of March.
The challenge was even bigger and better than previous years.
Last year, 48 teams across the county signed up for the challenge, this year 100 teams signed up.
The City of Delray Beach won the challenge and logged over two million minutes. Bruton was instrumental in the city of Delray's success. She rallied local organizations, schools and businesses together to exercise and log their minutes.
Bruton organized a pep rally at Atlantic High School to kick off the challenge, and the momentum built from there.
CBS12 is a proud sponsor of the Let's Move: Commit to Change Physical Activity Challenge.
Preparations are already underway for the 2018 challenge.
