What's Lincoln Thinkin' - Not an easy decision for Jimbo
Tallahassee, Fla. (CBS12) —
Smoke continues to billow around Jimbo Fisher and we may not find out until saturday whether or not there is in fact a fire.
But if Fisher leaves Florida State, it won't be for the usual reasons.
There are three main reasons why a college football head coach leaves for another job -
2.A better chance to win.
3.A better place to live.
Texas A&M does not give Fisher a major improvement in any of these three areas.
So why would he leave a place, where he's ready won a national championship?
The Tallahassee Democrat is reporting that Fisher does not get along with either FSU's athletic director or booster president.
At a place like FSU, I'm surprised if it came down to keeping their AD, booster president or football coach, it isn't an obvious choice.
Houston television station KPRC is reporting Fisher to Texas A&M is a done deal. They are reporting that being close to Houston, would allow for closer treatment for Fisher's son Ethan, who is fighting fanconi anemia, a very rare disease.
KPRC also claims, A&M has better facilities and university brass more supportive of the football program.
Leaving FSU for Texas A&M is not an easy decision and that's why it won't come down to the usual reasons.
And that's why right now, we have no idea what he's going to do.
