What's Lincoln Thinkin' - Kiffin recruiting for his next job
Lane Kiffin signed a highly touted first class at Florida Atlantic.
But the master recruiter has spent his first offseason not just looking for players to help FAU.
He's all ready looking ahead for the next great players, for his next head coaching job.
Keep your eyes open at Chuck E Cheese - you might see Lane Kiffin looking to find the next great college football player.
For the second time this offseason, Kiffin has reportedly offered a middle schooler a scholarship.
Apparently he liked what the kid could do on the monkey bars.
There may be no limit to how young Kiffin will go.
It seems quite impressive how dedicated he is to the future - these two players graduate high school in the years 2022 and 2023.
While they're getting offered FAU scholarships, I wonder if Kiffin is phrasing it that way to them.
Or if he's just saying what he really means - they'll get scholarships to wherever Kiffin is next.
He has never had a job for more than 3 and a half years, never mind the seven it would take to see these kids on the FAU campus.
Kiffin is using FAU's brand and resources to recruit for some other school. Yet if you're the brain trust at FAU there's nothing you can do about it, because you have to buy into the charade that he's here for the long haul.
No doubt all the headlines Kiffin has grabbed in his 7 months on the job, have been good for him.
But jury's still out if they're good for FAU.
