What's Lincoln Thinkin' - Anquan should get Hall call
Sunday Pahokee's own Anquan Boldin announced he was retiring from the NFL, to pursue more of his humanitarian work.
The former NFL Man of the Year,is all ready being called a polarizing Hall of Fame candidate.
But it shouldn't be a tough decision, when Canton comes calling.
The numbers, speak for themselves:
Only 8 receivers in the history of football had more catches than Anquan Boldin.
Only 13 receivers had more yards than Anquan Boldin.
Only 22 receivers had more touchdowns than Anquan Boldin.
Those who played with and against him, will tell you that the numbers barely scratch the surface, of what Boldin meant to the game.
A number of players put their thoughts of Boldin on social media. Cardinals cornerback Tyrann Mathieu wrote: "This picture describes me and Q going against each other. Tough. Physical. No plays off. #futurehalloffamer #legendsneverdie"
Many players have said Boldin was one of the toughest players they've ever played against.
He is a man of legend, in that regard - in 2008, getting 7 plates and 40 screws put it in his face, and coming back three games later.
Away from the game, there has been no better role model. Growing up on the tough streets of Pahokee, his work in the Glades, and around the world as part of the Q Foundation, earned him the NFL Man of the Year Award in 2015.
So the numbers, the player on the field, and the man off of it, all scream Hall-of-Famer.
What's to debate?
