Palm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame enshrines 2017 class

Some of the best athletes in the history of Palm Beach County took to the Kravis Center Ballroom stage on Sunday night. This year's inductees to the Palm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame include:

Olympic gold medalist, and Benjamin School grad, swimmer Ryan Berube.

BallenIsles Director of Tennis Trish Faulkner.

Former Notre Dame football player and assistant coach, and Cardinal Newman grad Tom Flynn.

World champion runner and Benjamin School grad Julian Reynolds.

Former West Virginia and Florida A&M quarterback, and Glades Central grad, Ja'Juan Seider,

Longtime John I Leonard coach Scott Siegel.

and ten-time high school state champion in track, and Pope John Paul II grad, Nicole Schappert Tully.

Some of this year's class shared with me some thoughts for how young athletes, can be where they are one day.

Also some other hardware was given out Sunday:

Palm Beach Central's Karimah Davis is the Female High School Athlete of the Year, Palm Beach Gardens's Amari Carter is the Male Athlete of the Year, and Grandview Prep Boys Basketball Coach Joe Dawson is High School Coach of the Year, and FAU Softball coach Joan Joyce was named the Coach of the Year.
