Oxbridge bests Cardinal Newman yet again to advance to regional finals

The Oxbridge Academy Girls basketball team just has Cardinal Newman's number this season.

The ThunderWolves downed the Crusaders 58-54 in the regional semifinals, beating them for the fourth time this season. Oxbridge is headed to the regional finals for just the second time in program history.

But it certainly wasn't smooth sailing. Oxbridge went into the fourth quarter trailing by 7 points after Boston College-bound Milan Moore poured in 13 of her 25 points in the third frame.

ThunderWolves sophomore shooting guard opened the fourth with back-to-back three's, en route to an 18 point game. And down the stretch a number of free throws, rebounds, and just smart plays were made by sophomore point guard Aaliyah Stanley. She finished with 20 points.

The ThunderWolves have one more win to get to states - they play Friday night against Tampa Catholic.
