Fort Pierce native commits to play hoops at Kentucky
FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) —
One of the best basketball recruits to ever come out of the Treasure Coast, did not finish his high school career there.
But E.J. Montgomery's decision to leave, seems to have been worthwhile - on Monday he committed to play at the University of Kentucky.
Montgomery was one of the top recruits in the nation at Lincoln Park Academy in Fort Pierce as an eighth grader, but left to find some tougher competition. Montgomery went to play high school ball at Montverde Academy, and then Wheeler High School in Georgia. The McDonald's All-American decommitted from auburn earlier this year, and the 6 foot 10 power forward announced Monday on twitter, he is going to Kentucky.
Montgomery is the 12th ranked recruit of the 2018 class by 247 sports.
