Cowan part of top signing class in the country at Alabama
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (CBS12) —
The Tide keeps on rolling on Signing Day.
Alabama may have lost the National Championship, but Nick Saban won on Wednesday, bringing home the top-ranked recruiting class in the country.
As part of it, he procured Vandarius Cowan. Not a big surprise - Cowan made the announcement flipping from Florida State to the Tide last April.
But it's been a roller coaster for Cowan - he was dismissed from the Palm Beach Gardens football team in October.
But the Tide stuck with him, and he says he stuck with them, because he wants to "play for the best".
Cowan admitted that he gave up on high school football after his junior season, and that his senior season was not one to remember. But the staff at Alabama told him to leave that in the past, when he arrives in Tuscaloosa.
