Jupiter resident Justin Thomas wins the 2018 Honda Classic in style
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. —
Jupiter resident Justin Thomas was not going to let his hometown tournament go easily ...nearly sinking a gap wedge his 72nd hole of the tournament, to set up birdie and a playoff hole with Luke List, who was the leader heading into the day.
Playing that same par-5 18th hole in the playoff, Thomas managed to get on the green in two shots, setting up the tournament winning birdie, his 2nd win of the season.
His good friend Rickie Fowler, who won last year, was there to congratulate him, just as Thomas was last year.
Thomas is only the third player to ever pull off his 8th PGA tour win before the age of 25, following in the footsteps of Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth.
Jupiter Island resident Tiger Woods gave his huge gallery a blast from the past, looking very confident for most of his final round, while wearing his famous Sunday red. The Bear Trap got to Tiger with a double bogey on 15 and a bogey on 16, but Tiger finished at even, and says he's starting to feel more and more tournament ready.
