PGA National preps for Honda Classic and waits for Tiger Woods
Construction is ongoing at PGA National, as the Honda Classic is just 4 weeks away. Over 250 thousand square feet of scaffolding are going up, including gigantic structures all around the 18 green.
Executive Director Ken Kennerly is in San Diego this week for the Farmer's Insurance Open. Kennerly's hoping to get a word in with Woods about committing to this year's Honda Classic. Representatives from the tournament expect to get an answer from him next week. Woods hasn't played the event since 2014, but of course he's battled back problems ever since. The Jupiter Island native is expected to play if he's healthy enough.
Two big new fan friendly experiences at the Honda Classic this year - a Lily Pulitzer tent, for shopping and lounging off the tenth green and SunPass-sponsored charging stations for cell phones.
