Jupiter's Daniel Berger ready to take on Augusta National
Augusta, GA (CBS12) —
Jupiter native Daniel Berger won his first tournament on the PGA Tour last year and became one of teh top 30 golfers in the World. This season the Dwyer High School alum is hoping to take his career to the next level by winning his first major. This week the focus is on the Masters.
"It's easier to come into a major when you've played well the week before like I did," says Berger. "I had a good trip last year, so I have have some good memories. It's all about having fun, because this place will tear you apart if you don't."
Berger says he feels comfortable at Augusta National, and is trying to stick to his normal habits. "I thtink, a lot of people overthink it," says Berger. "They play a lot of practice rounds and do all this extra work. I'm just that type of guy that does everything I normally do and it's kind of paid off for me. I'm just going to stick to that same sort of routine.
Berger comes into the Masters after a top 5 finish at last weekend's Shell Houston Open. So being loose and having a hot putter may be what it will take to earn his first green jacket.
