Dwyer grad Daniel Berger earning more and more respect on the PGA Tour
Cromwell, CT (CBS12) —
Jupiter's Daniel Berger admitted, after he won the St. Jude Classic two weeks ago, that he often finds himself overlooked among the current crop of PGA stars in their early 20's.
"You hear a lot about the young guns", said the Dwyer grad on National TV after his win. "about (Justin Thomas) and (Jordan Spieth), but I kind of feel like I get forgotten a little bit, and I'm pretty good. So I'm just going to keep doing my thing."
That's exactly what Berger did on Sunday against one of the very young golfers that he mentioned as one of the "Young guns", forcing a playoff with Spieth at the Travelers Championship.
And while Spieth blew everyone's mind by draining an incredible chip shot out of the bunker for the win on the first playoff hole, Berger is pleased with where his game is at.
"I played great today," Spieth said on TV after the sudden loss. "I played the playoff hole great, I mean he hit an unbelievable bunker shot, I mean Jordan does Jordan things. I'm obviously disapointed, but happy to be in the position I was today."
