Fins close out minicamp on high note
DAVIE, Fla. (CBS12) —
Last year the Dolphins lost four of their first five games. But a strong start begins well before Week One and Adam Gase believes his squad is on the right path.
Thursday the Fins finished up their offseason workouts. After three weeks of OTAs, this was the final day of the three workout mandatory minicamp.
Gase said he believes his team communicated more this offseason, learned faster from their mistakes during practice and integrated their new pieces well.
He added that almost everyone came into minicamp in great shape and he expects to see the same thing when training camp begins in 7 weeks.
Being in shape has never been a problem for Cam Wake. Now 35-years-old, the defensive end is a freak of nature, and a role model for the new young players on the defense.
Wednesday Gase apologized for misusing Wake last year. Gase felt the need to conserve wake's energy early in the year, and kept him on the bench. But he's learned from that mistake and Wake said he appreciates the apology.
Wake earned his fifth Pro Bowl last year and a contract extension this offseason that is paying him 8 million dollars the next two years.
