Dolphins turn to Hull to be man in the middle
DAVIE, Fla. (CBS12) —
The man in the middle of the defense, the mike linebacker, makes the defensive calls and works as coach on the field.
The Dolphins had a rookie penned for that position, now with Raekwon McMillan out for the year, they turn to another player without a lot of experience.
The next man up is Mike Hull. By NFL linebacker standards, he's small at 6 foot, 225 lbs. The former undrafted free agent saw action in every game last year, but in a backup role. The Fins reportedly brought in two free agent veterans Tuesday, but did not sign either one, so the pressure is on Hull to step up, next to veteran linebackers Kiko Alonso and Lawrence Timmons.
The Dolphins host the Ravens Thursday night at 7pm in their final home preseason game. You can watch it live on CBS12.
