Dolphins look to stay hot as calendar switches to December

You're not supposed to say the 'P' word in the Dolphins locker room - but if you're Dolphins fan, you can't help but think about the playoffs.

If the season ended this week, the Dolphins would own the second wild card spot and go back to the playoffs for the first time since 2008.

Of course, the season doesn't end this week and the Fins still have five games left, including a difficult matchup Sunday in Baltimore.

The Dolphins hit the dome in Davie Wednesday. a game up on the Ravens in the AFC but Baltimore has played and won numerous meaningful December games in the John Harbaugh era.

This is new territory for Adam Gase's crew - some of the Dolphins that have been around, like Ryan Tannehill - have not won these big December games. But this team seems ready to write a new story.

But the Fins are banged up this week, and Tannehill may be without one of his major weapons. DeVante Parker missed practice Wednesday with a back injury. On the O-line, Laremy Tunsil and Branden Albert were limited in practice, and Mike Pouncey was held out with injuries.
