Dolphins center Mike Pouncey ready to roll in Philadelphia on Thursday night
Philadelphia, PA —
Dolphins head coach Adam Gase has joked that he's put Dolphins veteran center Mike Pouncey in bubble wrap this preseason. It's finally time to see what he can do, as the Pro-Bowl center is slated to make his preseason debut on Thursday in Philadelphia, after recovering from multiple hip surgeries.
"I feel great," said Pouncey at practice in Philadelphia on Tuesday. "I feel really good man."
Pouncey has been a full participant in the two joint practices in Philly."Yesterday was a big confidence booster for me," admits Pouncey. "Because we took so many reps, and now I'm ready for Thursday."
"We are going to start with him," said Gase, who admits he will be cautious. "I am going to go with my gut."
Pouncey is still building his relationship with new quarterback Jay Cutler, but the new signal caller has impressed the veteran so far.
"He gets the ball out really, really fast, he can manage the huddle," says Pouncey. "We're just appreciative of him."
The Dolphins and Eagles kick off just after 7 PM this Thursday on CBS12.
