Tebow not in future plans for Mets in Grapefruit League
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) —
Tim Tebow's two games with the New York Mets in Grapefruit League action have come with plenty of fanfare in Port St. Lucie.
But they have not come with many results - and he may not have any more opportunities.
Friday, Tebow went 0 for 4, after his 0-3 performance on Wednesday. He has struck out three times total, but Friday he did hit the ball hard a few times. But he has zero hits facing legitimate big league pitching and manager Terry Collins says there are no plans to have Tebow play in another Grapefruit League game.
Tebow said after the game Friday that it's just another setback to learn from.
Collins did give Tebow some praise - saying he sees power in practice, but it just hasn't translated to the games.
