Florida Atlantic women's basketball officially introduced it's newest head coach Jim Jabir on Thursday. The former Dayton head coach took some time off from coaching, but makes his intentions clear about his vision for the team.

"What I realized, is to be process driven rather than so goal oriented. I mean winning or losing becomes so big, and obviously if you want to keep your job you have to win, but the reality is if you're driven by your process it takes pressure off, and allows you to be more effective in what you do."

Coach Jabrir has coached 29 years in the NCAA ranks, and has previously been the head coach at Buffalo State University, Siena College, Marquette University and Providence College. He's the winningest coach in Dayton's history, leading them to 6 straight NCAA Tournaments and teh Elite 8 in 2015, and knows what he needs to bring to FAU and the team.

"We have to learn how to play hard, and to win, because it's a learned thing, and we need to develop that kind of culture."

Jabir resigned from his post at Dayton prior to the start of the season citing "health issues" according to the Dayton Daily News, but played down the issues during the press conference.

Athletic Director Pat Chun believes Coach Jabrir is just what the team needs.

"Were excited, pumped to have Coach Jabir here, he brings an extraordinary set of credentials to FAU, he's built three programs, he's done things in the game no coach has done, he really is an extraordinary fit for Florida Atlantic University."
