Inaugural season of Ballpark of the Palm Beaches comes to an end
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) —
30 games in 30 days has come and gone.
All of that rushing in just 15 months, to get the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches up and running - the final mission accomplished Wednesday afternoon in the inaugural season of spring training's return to West Palm Beach.
Astros hosting the Marlins - the 'Stros and the Nats packing up and leaving during the night for exhibition games in their home cities for Thursday
But first, just one last game in the brand new facility.
The Astros jumped out in the top of the first, with an RBI double by Jose Altuve.
But in the second inning, the Marlins jumped on Hollywood native Mike Fiers - as JT Realmuto doubled in Ichiro Suzuki, and then later scored on an error.
The final game in what has been an exciting first season of baseball at the complex, ended with a 5-5 tie.
