Former Cardinal Newman & FSU star Travis Rudolph promoted from Giants practice squad
East Rutherford, NJ (CBS12) —
The New York Giants are promoting former Cardinal Newman star Travis Rudolph from the practice squad, according to the NFL Network. The 0-5 Giants are hoping the rookie wide receiver can help begin to fill the voids in a receiving corp that has been hit hard by injuries, potentially losing both Dwayne Harris and Odell Beckham Jr. for the season with foot injuries.
Rudolph went undrafted out of Florida State before signing with the Giants immediately following the draft. He made International headlines last year when he befriended Bo Paske, a young boy with autism, while visiting a middle school in Tallahassee. Tragedy then struck Rudolph when his father was then killed in an accidental shooting one week before April's NFL Draft.
Rudolph impressed the Giants in the preseason, making 9 catches for 157 yards.
