New GardensArt exhibit opens in #The561

New GardensArt exhibit opens in #The561. (City of Palm Beach Gardens)

GardensArt, a Palm Beach Gardens-based art in public places program, is presenting “Ebb and Flow”, an exhibition of oil paintings and digital photography by artist Ray Olivero.

Olivero is a photographer and painter who was born in Tampa. He received his BA degree from the University of South Florida and his MFA degree from the University of Illinois. His work has been featured in over 200 exhibitions which includes one-person shows, group invitationals, regional competition and national competitions, as well as numerous public and private collections..

He's also received 26 awards, including an NEA Regional Fellowship, a Florida Fellowship, the Broward County Duane Hanson Fellowship and 11 Public Art Commissions.

Olivero's paintings and photographs represent a particular breadth of his artwork that focuses on the beach/ocean scape. His basic goal is to create artwork that possesses an enduring, aesthetic presence. The work has to have a life of its own as a visual experience. This experience is created primarily with color, space, light and shape.

The exhibition opens Aug. 28 and runs through Oct. 6 at City Hall Lobby in Palm Beach Gardens.

Exhibit hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
