Former Boston TV anchor Heather Unruh says actor Kevin Spacey sexually assaulted her son.

Unruh says it happened on Nantucket Island in the summer of 2016. During a news conference Wednesday with her lawyer, she said her son didn't report the incident then out of fear and embarrassment.

Unruh says Nantucket Police have opened an investigation into the report.

"Shame on you for what you did to my son," said Unruh. "Shame on you for using your apology to Anthony Rapp to come out as a gay man. That was an appalling attempt to deflect attention away from what you really are. A sexual predator. Your actions are criminal."

Days before Halloween, Anthony Rapp accused the two-time Oscar winner of making sexual advances toward him in at Spacey's apartment in 1986. Rapp was 14 at the time.

Spacey apologized on Twitter and admitted to being a gay man.

Netflix announced it canceled "House of Cards" after six seasons in the wake of the accusations against Spacey. Netflix later fired Spacey amid accusations from co-workers of inappropriate behavior.

There is also an open investigation by Scotland Yard after a male actor claimed Spacey sexually assaulted him in London nine years ago.
