Caught on Camera: Truck goes airborne, slams onto another car
WEBSTER PARISH, LA. (CBS12) —
A high speed chase on the highways of Louisiana ends with a truck flying through the air before landing on another car.
CNN affiliate KSLA reports that the chase began after a Caddo Parish deputy pulled over the truck for speeding.
As the driver spoke to the deputy outside of the truck, the passenger, 18-year-old Kevonte Dekorey Austin, reportedly jumped into the driver's seat and sped away.
Deputies say the chase reached speeds of up to 115 miles per hour. The chase came to an end when deputies say they put down spike strips.
The video captured shows the truck striking the strips and zooming through the air before landing on an occupied car parked in a restaurant lot.
Reports say that the driver of the second vehicle, Barbara Halon, crawled out of the car through the passenger door uninjured.
