Amber Alert canceled: 6-year-old girl found safe; father taken into custody

Connecticut authorities have cancelled the Amber Alert for 6-year-old Aylin Sofia Hernandez. The Amber Alert was initially issued early Friday morning.

Pennsylvania State Police say the child was found with her father, Oscar Hernandez, who took the child from an apartment overnight.

Officials say the landlord of that apartment called the police sometime around 3 a.m. about a stabbing. The child's father is suspected of stabbing and killing one person and severely injuring several others. Authorities say he has been taken into custody.

The father and child were believed to be driving a silver 2017 Hyundai Sonata with the plate number AG91925 into New Jersy, where the alert extended to later in the morning.

This is a developing story. CBS12 will provide updates as they become available.
