Storm Chasers capture Florida before Irma’s landfall
NAPLES, Florida (CBS12) - Storm Chasers are traveling around the state of Florida capturing scenes of residents and towns before the storm makes landfall later Sunday.

Heavy rains pummeled the area as Irma’s outer rain bands reached the Florida peninsula. People boarded up their homes and windows.
Residents wrote messages on the boards, one read “Cash me outside Irma.”
High waves pummeled the coastal areas in Punta Gorda. Boats rocked in inlets and strong winds bent palm trees.
A drone flew over Marco Island and captured rain moving in over the ocean.
In Fort Meyers lines of cars and people stretched along the sidewalks of people looking to get admitted into a local shelter.
