A parking lot dispute may have triggered a shooting in Stuart. (MCSO)

Deputies in Martin County are investigation a shooting. One person is shot, another is in custody.

Sheriff William Snyder says it may have stemmed over a parking dispute as one car was parking, possibly blocking another.

Authorities say one person with a gun shot another person who had a knife. The man with the knife suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff.

The scene is along Northwest Sunset Terrace in North River Shores, just north of Stuart. The sheriff believes those involved in the shooting were doing work in the area but do not live there.

No word yet on the condition of the shooting victim.

Sheriff Snyder says it's early in the investigation and more information will be made available later in the day.
