Renaissance Charter School teacher arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia
Police arrested a school teacher on two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia after used heroin capsules and needles were found in his possession. Port St. Lucie Police say Renaissance Charter School teacher Patrick McLaughlin, 27, was arrested Monday on school grounds.
Police say they received an anonymous tip through Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers of potential drug related activity involving McLaughlin.
Authorities searched McLaughlin's car, which was parked on campus, but found no drugs.
They also searched his classroom desk and found a used heroin capsule. Detectives also found a used heroin capsule in the trash can under the same desk and two syringes in McLaughlin's pants pocket.
