The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and West Palm Beach police shutdown roads in West Palm Beach following a shooting.

It happened just before 4 a.m. Friday morning near Church Street and Okeechobee Boulevard.

According to police, it started as an armed robbery on Haverhill Road. Law enforcement say more than one suspect opened fire on deputies.

Deputies on the scene told CBS12 there was a chase after the suspect(s) jumped out of a vehicle and took off running. PBSO has a helicopter searching the area.

Authorities say one deputy was injured during the incident, but it's unclear if the deputy suffered a gunshot wound.

PBSO is starting to breakdown the perimeter so residents in the area can move freely. The crime scene is still roped off.
