Port St. Lucie police looking for young car burglars

Police in Port St. Lucie are looking for a group of youngster caught on camera breaking into cars.

The rash of thefts happened along NW Cardinal Avenue early Saturday morning.

Police released surveillance images of the burglars.

One ran alongside a silver or white 4-door sedan as it drove down the block. The young male tries to open a car door with his hand wrapped inside his T-shirt in an effort to avoid leaving fingerprints behind.

A second burglar has his head covered with a hooded jacket. He walked along the street and into one victim's driveway, police said.

The third person came out of the passenger side of the car to join his partners in crime. The burglars tried the door handles of two cars in the driveway and stole a Coach purse and $30 in cash, according to police.
