Police: Driver had heart trouble prior to crash in Delray

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says a man had heart problems just before he crashed in Delray Beach last month.

The crash happened along Jog Road and Linton Boulevard on March 16. The driver went off the road and hit a wooden power pole.

The driver, identified as 79-year-old Jerry Ginsberg, reportedly told his wife that he was feeling "dizzy" and then went unconscious.

According to deputies, Ginsberg ran into the base of a power pole which caused the live power lines to land on the car.

Due to the live power lines, the process of reaching Ginsberg and his wife was delayed, authorities said.

Ginsberg was taken to Delray Medical Center. The medical examiner said Ginsberg died of hypertensive heart disease at the hospital.
