Mysterious cat deaths in Martin County spur investigation

The suspicious deaths of three cats is prompting an investigation in Martin County.

Two cats belonged to a family in Sewall's Point. The felines died last month. The third cat died this month. It belonged to a family in Jensen Beach, according to the sheriff's office.

Investigators believe the cats died from Ethylene-Glycol toxicity. Ethylene-Glycol is found in anti-freeze and can be deadly if ingested, the sheriff's office said.

Detectives want to speak with homeowners who may have noticed their cats getting sick suddenly or dying for no apparent reason. Call Sgt. Pat Colasuonno at 772-220-711 if you have any information.
