Massive high end residential building gets city approval in Boca Raton
BOCA RATON, Fla. (CBS12) —
Boca Raton's City Commission has just approved Mizner 200, a high-end residential building that will be located in the heart of downtown with nearly 400 apartments
Coral Springs-based El-ad National Properties is the developer.
The company was told to return to the drawing board after several issues arose about the plan, including the proposed height.
Project leaders returned Monday afternoon with the changes.
In a unanimous vote, 5 to 0, council-members gave the project the green light.
The town houses at Mizner on the Green will have to be leveled to make room for the new building.
Opponents of the project say downtown needs more commercial spaces and businesses, not top dollar residential options because the city doesn't currently have the job-base to fill the units.
El-ad National Properties did not return CBS 12's phone call for comment.
