Man arrested, charged for sharing child pornography

Investigators said a quick search of Alan Firestone's computer came up with at least 20 explicit images of kids between the ages of six and 15 years old. (WPEC)

Investigators in Palm Beach County tracked down a Delray Beach man they said used a computer to download and share child pornography.

According to court documents, it started eight months ago with an undercover investigation by the State Attorney’s Office.

An IP address led investigators to a home in the Bon Aire Community near Jog and West Atlantic Roads in Delray Beach.

Shock and disbelief, that’s how Gaby Naim described the recent arrest of his friend and next door neighbor 47-year-old Alan Firestone.

“If you ask all the neighbors they know him. He is a very nice guy,” Naim said. “He's helpful. If you have a problem with a computer, he come, he [does] it for free. He is the secretary of our board. For us, he is a wonderful guy."

Firestone is now facing 20 counts of possession of child pornography. He made his first appearance Friday morning less than 24 hours after investigators served a search warrant of his home.

“I came out and saw the policeman, and I asked him anything wrong. He said don't worry, everything's safe,” Naim said.

According to court documents, Firestone admitted to downloading porn on his computer.

Investigators said a quick search of Firestone's computer came up with at least 20 explicit images of kids between the ages of six and 15 years old.

“Child pornography for Alan, I can't believe it,” Naim said.

Prosecutors said they plan to file more charges against Firestone. A judge set his bond at $140,000.
