Arrest made in Mohawk Street murders

Jupiter Police have arrested and charged 24-year-old Christopher Vasata in the triple murders on Mohawk Street.

Jupiter Police Chief Frank Kitzerow would not say the relationship between Vasata and the victims but did confirm Vasata was shot at the home on Mohawk Street and was later located in Paseos neighborhood suffering from a gunshot wound.

The Chief of police said Vasata has been recovering in the hospital since the February 5th shootings.

The Chief said there is one other shooter involved in the triple murder and that the investigation remains active and ongoing.

The FBI is going to issue a cash reward for more information on the crime.

The three young people that lost their lives were: Kelli J. Doherty, 20, of Tequesta, Brandi El-Salhy, 24, of Gainesville and Sean P. Henry, 25, of Jupiter.

Charlie Vorpagel, 27, who lives in the house where the slayings took place, was arrested on federal weapons and drug charges.

Vasata is charged with three counts of first degree murder with a firearm, one count of attempted first degree murder with a firearm, and one count of a felon in possession of a firearm or ammunition.

Vasata remains at the Palm Beach County Jail and will appear before a judge Tuesday morning for a bond hearing.
