Hurricane Irma moving north with increasing winds before landfall
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Hurricane Irma remains a category 4 hurricane and is gaining speed along the southwest coast, according to the latest advisory from the National Weather Service.
The storm is moving north at 9 miles per hour. The storm remains a category 4. Maximum wind speeds of 130 miles per hour.
Storm surges on the west coast could reach up to 15 feet.
