Children rescued from apartment on fire, infant rushed to the hospital

Riviera Beach Police Department and Riviera Beach Fire Rescue are working an emergency situation at Stonybrook Apartments.

Riviera Beach Police Department and Riviera Beach Fire Rescue responded to a fire at Stonybrook Apartments Friday night.

Riviera Beach Police Major Spencer Rozier tells CBS12 there was a dispute with a man and a woman at the apartment complex in Building F at Stonybrook Apartments.

Major Rozier said there were three small children in the apartment at the time. The children were able to escape with the help of neighbors and rescue crews.

The infant was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital and is expected to survive according to police.


Major Rozier said the damage to the building is "substantial." Residents in Building F were evacuated. Red Cross was called to help the displaced residents.
