Harvey expected to become a category 3 hurricane

Hurricane Harvey is rapidly intensifying and is forecast to make landfall as a category 3 hurricane.

Harvey's winds have increased to 85 mph as it is moving N/NW at 10 mph across the western Gulf of Mexico.

On the current forecast track, Harvey will approach the middle Texas coast on Friday and make landfall Friday night or early Saturday.

Devastating flooding is possible as one to two feet of rain may fall over the next week with isolated amounts over 30 inches.
