Florida woman sexually battered at gunpoint in home invasion
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (CBS12) —
Police are looking for a man who they say sexually battered a woman at gunpoint during a home invasion in Northeast Florida.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the attack happened early Sunday morning at an apartment complex on the city's Southside.
Police said an unknown man kicked in the front door of an apartment and forced the woman and her father into a bedroom. The attacker sexually battered the woman, demanded money and a cell phone before running away.
Investigators released a composite sketch of the attacker who wore a yellow jacket, light blue jeans and a white or red hat. Police said he spoke a foreign language.
The sheriff's office released surveillance video of an SUV that followed another car into the apartment complex without its lights on about two hours before the attack. The same car left the apartment about 20 minutes after the home invasion, police said.
Authorities are asking people to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS. You will remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward of up to $3,000.
