19 residents displaced after fire at Lake Worth apartment complex
LAKE WORTH (CBS12) —
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to a fire at the Avesta Apartments in Lake Worth Saturday afternoon.
The fire was located in a third floor apartment and first arriving firefighters saw smoke from the building on the 2500 block of 10th Avenue North.
Fire Rescue says seven apartments were affected, and up to 19 residents were displaced as a result.
Fire Rescue was able to contain the fire and get it under control around 4:45 p.m. Investigators determined the fire to be accidental, and caused by children playing with matches.
