Woman killed in early morning crash on I-95
LAKE WORTH, Fla. (CBS12) —
A woman is dead, and two others, including a state trooper, were injured following an early morning crash in Lake Worth.
It happened just before 3:30 a.m. Friday on I-95 N before 10 Avenue North, exit 64.
Florida Highway Patrol says a trooper and road ranger were finishing up an earlier crash when a car hit the road ranger and injured the trooper. The car then slammed into the barrier.
The female passenger in the car, 22-year-old Gretel Mendez-Vega, was pronounced dead, and the driver, 26-year-old Jose Rodriguez, was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according FHP.
Both the road ranger and the trooper were also taken to a local hospital, but their condition is unknown.
All lanes are now open.
