Woman found dead after car crashes into canal
WELLINGTON, Fla. (CBS12) —
Deputies found a deceased woman inside a car after it crashed into a canal and flipped in Wellington.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and fire rescue crews are at the scene of a fatal car crash in a canal near Wellington.
According to deputies a horse handler saw what appeared to be a vehicle upside down in a canal around 7:41 a.m.
The crash is along South Road, just southwest of 40th Street South and S Road.
Investigators say the woman has been identified as 44-year-old Kimberly Pellot of Lake Worth. The PBSO says Pellot missed a stop sign and went off the road. Authorities are not sure when the crash initially happened.
The horse handler immediately called 911 deputies say.
PBSO says for unknown reasons the driver entered the canal, the car flipped upon impact, and the female driver was pinned inside.
