MCSO: Video catches director of senior living facility stealing from resident
MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (CBS 12) —
Martin County Deputies arrested the director of an assisted living facility after they say she was caught on camera stealing money from an elderly woman.
Deputies say Serafina Frahm, Director at The Pointe at Ocean Boulevard, routinely entered the room of an 82-year-old resident and swiped hundreds of dollars from her purse.
The son of the elderly woman took notice and installed a surveillance camera inside her apartment. He then hid out of view.
Video shows a woman enter an apartment and remove hundreds of dollars in cash from the victim’s purse. The woman then took the extra precaution of wiping down what she touched with a cloth. The victim’s son then entered the room and confronted her. He also called the MCSO.
According to a sheriff's office release, Frahm told detectives that she used her master key to enter the apartment when she knew it would be unoccupied. The victim’s family believe that the theft occurred on at least four additional occasions. In all more than $1000 in cash was missing.
Frahm is charged with burglary and theft from a person 65-years or older.
MSCO is concerned that there may have been additional victims.
