Business targeted by would-be thieves burdened by expensive repair costs
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS 12) —
Wednesday morning a local business owner discovered someone tried to break into his store off North Military Trail in West Palm Beach overnight.
Now cracks splinter the glass in the front of his store where crooks tried to get in, and the whole incident was caught on camera.
“Bang, Bang, Bang you cannot get in,” said the small business owner, Fuad Jalal, referencing the cracked, but not shattered hurricane impact glass windows, which kept the wannabe burglars out.
“It’s out of control,” said Jalal.
Fractured windows are becoming a common sight at Jalal’s business. He says crooks have tried to break into his store three times in the last month.
“The first time December 10th, the next day they tried it again December 11th, and they tried it yesterday on December 26th,” said Jalal. Each time was a huge hit to Jalal’s wallet.
“If you want to change the whole glass it cost you money, each impact glass cost you $1,000,” said Jalal. So he’s hoping someone recognizes the guys in the photos or surveillance video he shared. “To just let their parents know and if you can please let the sheriff’s department know,” said Jalal.
