The dream of virtual reality may not be so farfetched. Samsung just unveiled new technology at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Check out the new Gear 360 - a video camera that uses two fish-eye lenses to shoot videos and photos in 360 degrees. It's the first-ever virtual reality device able to cover this much space and allow you to create your own virtual spaces.

Samsung also released two new phones - the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

Virtual reality has the ability to transport us to new digital worlds.

"We believe in a world that is brighter, sharper, more convenient and more fun," said DJ Koh, the new president of Samsung during the company's press conference.

According to CNET, almost every major technology company has already launched a virtual reality headset or is working on one - including HTC, Facebook's Oculus, Google and Sony.

The Gear 360 is set to go on sale this year. Samsung promised to give away a Gear Virtual Reality 360 camera to anyone who pre-orders a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge phone.

No word yet on how much the virtual reality camera will cost.
