Consumer Alerts: Gas prices
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) —
Gas prices are on the rise, and they are expected to go up significantly.
The national average for gas is up about $.30 compared to this time last year, and according to GasBuddy.com, prices will go even higher as we head to Memorial Day and the start of the busy summer driving season.
Gas prices always go up when the warm weather approaches, but this year, there could be another $.20 to $.40 added from where the prices stand right now. The rise is also fueled by the fact that more people are driving and oil prices are rising.
Florida could see prices go up to $2.70 a gallon this summer, which is about $.70 higher than last summer.
